What to avoid in doing Face Verification?

1. Poor Lighting

  • Avoid dim rooms or strong backlight (e.g., standing in front of a window).
  • Don't sit in the dark or have uneven shadows across your face.

2. Obstructions on Your Face

  • Avoid:
    • Sunglasses
    • Hats, scarves, or masks
    • Hair covering your face
    • Hands near your face
  • Facial features must be fully visible.

3. Filters or Edited Images

  • Do not use:
    • Beauty filters (skin smoothing, virtual makeup)
    • Snapchat/Instagram-style effects
    • Retouched or digitally enhanced images

4. Wrong Camera Angle or Distance

  • Don’t hold the camera:
    • Too close or too far away
    • Below or above your face
  • Keep your face centered and level with the camera.

5. Expression Issues

  • Avoid:
    • Smiling if the system asks for a neutral expression
    • Looking away or closing your eyes
    • Fast or jerky movements during liveness checks

6. Inconsistent Appearance

  • Don't drastically change your appearance compared to your ID photo. Avoid:
    • Heavy makeup (if not present in your ID)
    • Large facial changes (like face bandages or big accessories)
    • Wearing glasses if you’re not wearing them in your ID (or vice versa)

7. Poor Internet or App Glitches

  • Avoid trying the process:
    • With a slow or unstable internet connection
    • When your app/browser is outdated
  • Ensure permissions for camera access are granted.

8. Faking or Using Photos

  • Never try to use:
    • A photo of a face
    • A screenshot
    • A printed image
  • These will likely be caught by liveness detection and could result in being locked out or flagged for fraud.
